Huong Huong Tay's factory is invested $ 1.5 million, with 60% of investment from the world's leading flavor group Frutarom, Israel. The factory is expected to complete after six months with an initial capacity of 2,000 tons of flavors per year.
Vietnamese flavor market is worth more than 220 - 250 million USD per year, with a minimum growth rate of 15 - 20% per year. However, this market is only a playground for big foreign corporations. Most Vietnamese companies only participate in the import and resell segment. Some companies are inherited modern technology from foreign countries but only stop at the receipt of mixing and diluting flavors.
There are not many companies in Vietnam can qualify for manufacturing flavor and fragrance at a request of Vietnamese market because this is a high-tech market that requires financial and gray matter investment.
"Huong Huong Tay's new factory helped us fulfill our long-cherished dream. It is manufacturing flavors and fragrances in Vietnam by Vietnamese flavourist. General Director of WFF- Ms Nguyen Thuy Phương said: “Vietnamese cuisine has a very unique flavor that only Vietnamese can make the flavors suitable for Vietnamese taste," Phuong shared.
